The Rose Garden and beautiful old Tea House are located in the Nursery. During the Bernstorff era the Tea House was used as guest accommodation. Later, towards the end of the 19th century, Queen Louise, the wife of King Christian IV, had a rose garden laid out next to the small building.
In 2000 the Rose Garden was recreated on the basis of a plan from the time of Queen Louise, a photo of the garden taken in the 1880s and journal entries made by the queen’s palace gardener, so you can now enjoy the sight and scent of the historical rose varieties that graced the spot when King Christian IV was on the throne.
The Tea House is now used for exhibitions and other presentations.
