Copenhagen Zoo has built a new elephant enclosure that can be viewed from Frederiksberg Gardens. The new elephant enclosure at Copenhagen Zoo has given Frederiksberg Gardens a brand new attraction, with it being possible to watch the elephants from the park.
New elephant house
The new elephant house was designed by British architects Foster + Partners, while SLA Landskabsarkitekter were responsible for the elephants’ outdoor space and the surrounding area. Part of the elephant house has been sunk into the ground in a lush, green setting. A wet area and a long ornamental lake have been created between the path in Frederiksberg Gardens and the elephant enclosure to form the new boundary between the park and the zoo.
