Søndermarken was transformed into a Romantic landscape garden at the end of the 1700s. The garden still exhibits several examples of the Romantic fascination with the exotic and the dramatic.
Søndermarken has been open to the public since 1852.
In Søndermarken you can enjoy nature in the middle of the city. Lots of people visit the garden on a daily basis day to jog, walk the dog, or simply take a stroll in the hilly, wooded landscape.
